What is enhanced CD?
It’s a compact audio disc that does more than play music. Of course, you can listen to it like a regular audio CD and hear music or whatever else has been recorded on the disc, but you can also play it in the CD / DVD drive of your computer and experience video, graphics, text and web links.
What kind of computer do I need to play enhanced CD?
A regular or multimedia-capable Windows computer should do. The newer, the better.
How is enhanced CD different from CD-ROM?
Most CD / DVD-ROMs you buy today may be played on the CD / DVD drive of your computer. That’s the only way you’ll get at the interactive media. But enhanced CD is different. The primary focus of enhanced CD is audio content. The interactive media is the bonus.
What can I expect when I put this disc in my PC?
PCs running Windows XP have a facility which is called autorun. Autorun is enabled by default on Windows XP. You may have experienced autorun in action already. Simply put, when a CD is inserted into the CD / DVD drive of your computer, something 'happens' automagically.
Either Windows asks you what to do, or sometimes a menu will appear or an application will launch and will present itself to you. In the case of this Small Business Mentor Club (SBMC) CD, a small menu will appear and the selections you can make on that menu will be clear. It is through this menu that you can access the bonus content on this enhanced CD. Of course, this will only happen if autorun is enabled *
Can I view the content if I do not want to have autorun enabled on my computer?
Yes. Please just double click on the Small Business Mentor Club CD icon in 'My Computer' on Windows XP. This will invoke the menu.
What can I expect when I put this disc in my Mac?
On a Mac things are different. As of Mac OSX, Apple discontinued the Mac version of autorun and did not implement any replacement functionality for it. However, you will still be able to access the bonus content, it will just involve a little more interaction from you. When you insert the CD, your desktop will actually show that 2 CDs are inserted. Odd, but it makes sense. One CD represents the audio portion of the SBMC CD, the other represents the data portion of the SBMC CD.
The audio portion will play as a normal audio CD using iTunes or your preferred audio CD player. For the data portion, you will have to manually explore by yourself, as you would any normal disc or folder on your Mac. The bonus files of interest are located in a folder called 'My Files'.

About Podcasts
What is a podcast?
If you think the name sounds familiar – you are correct.
It is derived from the ipod although it’s important to note that you don’t have to have an ipod to get involved in podcasting. And just in case you are not sure what an ipod is – it is a very versatile MP3 player from Apple which you see many people, walking the streets listening to music with.
Podcasting offers a vast learning opportunity for you and is a great way to hear the DSBN audio content (plus some great music!)
The fastest way to learn about downloading a podcast from DSBN (apart from asking someone with headphones) is to visit www.podcasts.yahoo.com/start or www.apple.com/au/itunes/store/podcastsfaq.html
There you will learn lots more about how it works and how you can have fun with it faster than we will ever be able to explain in a dozen podcasts!
What Podcasting is not!
Many people believe podcasting to a single audio file that can be downloaded from your computer. This is not the case. Podcasting is a way of subscribing to a series of audio programs just as you would subscribe to a magazine or the CD version of the Small Business Mentor Club. Instead of being delivered to your letterbox every fortnight or month, the podcast is automatically downloaded to your computer via iTunes, or what ever other program you use.
How can I subscribe to a podcast from DSBN?
At DSBN, the only way to subscribe to a podcast is by subscribing via your iTunes player. Simply click here.
