It includes a series of questions to guide people through the various stages of their business including before they start, when they start, when they buy and when they run their business.
The resource also includes a summary checklist and a federal, state and territory government agency index.
The easy-to-use checklist addresses one of the key recommendations from the recently released Rethinking Regulation: Report of the Taskforce on Reducing Regulatory Burdens on Business.
Thorough testing with numerous focus groups in rural and metropolitan Australia also revealed the need for this checklist.
More than 28 government agencies were consulted in the development of the checklist and many agency programs relevant to business are represented in the guide.
There are two versions of the checklist available from business.gov.au — the Australian Government's principal online business resource.
You can download a printable PDF or an interactive version offering benefits such as the ability to customise the checklist, access direct links to resources, work offline, save progress, add notes and email a copy to others.
Both versions can be viewed and downloaded for free from www.business.gov.au/checklist.
